Vivid Sydney 2026 — What's On & When?
Vivid Sydney 2026 runs from 22 May to 13 June across 23 nights; this year, each of the four pillars — Vivid Light, Vivid Music, Vivid Food and Vivid Minds — returns brighter and more ambitious than ever.
At the centre of the festival is the 6.5-kilometre Vivid Light Walk, redesigned for 2026 and featuring more than 40 large-scale installations stretching through Sydney’s most iconic harbour precincts: Circular Quay, The Rocks, Barangaroo and Darling Harbour.
Every night, the harbour skyline becomes a canvas of colour, projection mapping and immersive light art.
Where To Watch The Vivid Lights?
Each year, thousands gather along the harbour foreshore to see the installations. While the views are impressive, the crowds and chilly June evenings can make the experience less comfortable.
A Vivid lights boat cruise offers a far more relaxed way to enjoy the festival. Cruising past the illuminated skyline allows you to see multiple installations from the water, without navigating packed walkways or competing for viewing spots.
From the harbour, you can take in the full spectacle of Sydney’s landmarks glowing with colour — including the sails of the world-famous Sydney Opera House.

* On select nights, from 28 May to 12 June, Vivid Sydney fireworks will light up the harbour at 8 pm. The displays will be set off between Fort Denison and Athol Bay, creating incredible close-up views from Clearview Vivid Sydney cruises. These are the dates:
