Frequently Asked Questions - Clearview Weddings & Receptions

How soon before my wedding date should I book?

Clearview is one of the most sought-after wedding function venues in Sydney. For a Saturday evening, we recommend booking at least 12 months in advance. If your dates are flexible, 3–6 months’ notice is usually sufficient.

Will price vary for different dates/days for the same wedding package?

Yes, prices vary depending on the season and demand, just like other popular wedding venues in Sydney.

How do I reserve my date?

To secure your preferred date, we require a 20% deposit upon booking. Please note, we do not allow tentative bookings.

What happens after I have booked?

Once your date is confirmed with a deposit, we’ll send you a confirmation and a sample function sheet so you can start planning your Sydney Harbour wedding in detail. We’ll reconnect 30 days prior to your big day, but you’re welcome to reach out to your Charter Consultant anytime.

When do you need our final numbers?

Final payment is due 31 days before your wedding date, and final guest numbers can be confirmed up to 14 days prior.

Do you offer combined ceremony and reception packages?

Yes! Our base 4-hour wedding package can include both your ceremony and reception, or you can extend the time to create a fully tailored Sydney Harbour wedding experience.

Do your cruises operate in all weather conditions?

Yes, cruises operate in all weather conditions on Sydney Harbour, unless regulatory authorities restrict operations.

What happens if a guest has seasickness?

Our vessel is very stable and cruises at low speed, so seasickness is uncommon. Guests who are prone to it are advised to take precautions in advance.

Is there air-conditioning on board?

Yes, Clearview is fully enclosed and air-conditioned across both levels, making it one of the most comfortable wedding venues Sydney has to offer in any season.

Do you offer a menu tasting and can I change the menu?

Yes, once a deposit is paid, we provide a complimentary menu tasting for two guests. Additional guests can attend for $40 per person. Menu changes are possible, although some may incur extra charges.

Is there an in-house caterer or do you allow outside caterers?

We have our own onboard galley and executive chef, so you won’t need an external caterer.

Do you allow us to bring in our own alcohol?

Clearview is a fully licensed venue and does not allow BYO. However, you may discuss custom inclusions with your Charter Consultant.

Do you cater for special dietary requirements?

Yes, we can cater for dietary needs if advised at least 14 days prior.

Is there a separate menu and price for children and suppliers such as DJs or photographers?

Yes, these meals have a different cost as they are simpler. Your Charter Consultant will provide you with the pricing for any special meals served on the day.

Where will the wedding cruise go?

Our cruise route is designed to showcase iconic Sydney Harbour views including the Opera House and Harbour Bridge. This makes Clearview one of the best reception venues in Sydney for unforgettable wedding photos.

Can I customise the cruise route?

Yes, if you’d like to include a specific location, let us know and our Marine team will try to accommodate the same.

Will my cruise be cancelled due to bad weather?

Cruises operate in most weather conditions and will only be cancelled if deemed unsafe by the Captain or if authorities impose restrictions.

When should our guests arrive for boarding?

Guests should arrive 20–30 minutes before boarding to ensure a smooth departure.

How can my guests get to Clearview?

The vessel departs from King Street Wharf 5, which is easily accessible by train, ferry, Uber or taxi. We’ll share detailed directions with your booking confirmation.

What is the last possible date that we can make changes to the floorplan and timeline?

We recommend finalising your wedding floorplan and timeline 14 days before the event.

When can my stylist access the venue to decorate (bump in)?

Styling access is allowed up to 1.5 hours before the cruise, or as pre-arranged with your Charter Consultant.

What time is bump out?

Decor and styling items must be packed down within 1 hour after the cruise.

Who will be our point of contact before and on the day of our wedding?

Before your wedding, you’ll have a designated Charter Consultant. On the day, your Cruise Director will ensure everything runs smoothly.

Where can my guests park?

There is plenty of parking around the King Street Wharf area, but we will certainly share the best parking spots & suggestions on “how to get here” with your booking confirmation

What music or entertainment can we have at the reception or ceremony?

You can bring your own DJ, band, or entertainment. Alternatively, you can use our in-house system with your own playlist. We can also connect you with preferred suppliers if needed.

Who is responsible for setting up and packing down décor?

The client and/or hired stylists are responsible for set-up and pack-down. Please note that attachments to the walls or glass are not permitted.

Are there decoration limitations and do you allow candles?

We do not allow confetti, fireworks, flares, or animals on board. Candles are permitted if they are placed in safe holders.

Are plates, silverware, and glassware provided?

Yes, high-quality tableware is included. We can also provide items like candle vases and table numbers upon request.
