Cruise Dining Etiquette for a Smoother & Happier Experience

Sydney Harbour Dining Cruises

The Clearview is not merely a cruise, it is an experience. An experience in terms of food, ambience, service and roving views of Sydney Harbour. The promise of an unforgettable experience is what all our guests look forward to — and we will leave no stone unturned to ensure the same.

But here’s the thing — maintaining the quality of an experience works both ways. We strive relentlessly to do our part aboard our lunch and dinner cruises in Sydney, and here are a few tips to help you do yours.

Be on time to board the cruise

Better late than never does not work for us. Every passenger’s time is precious and we don’t believe in compromising their punctuality for the sake of others who don’t make it on time. Whether it’s a Sydney lunch cruise or a dinner cruise, we stick to our timetable without fail. So get to the wharf at least 15 mins prior to boarding time — the experience is definitely worth the wait. Moreover, there will be no credit or refund issued for passengers who run late for the cruise.

Be mindful of your children on board

It's always good to have a word with your children about the dos and don'ts before going on board the cruise. Well-behaved kids can maintain the decorum of the cruise, guaranteeing a hassle-free experience for you and for everyone else on board. We do understand that kids will be kids, but we request the parents to keep a close eye on them to avoid inconveniences and mishaps on board.

Respect our dress code as we believe it makes a difference

The Clearview experience does not welcome the ‘come as you are’ dress code. To maintain the exclusivity of the cruise we request guests to come in semi-formal/smart casual attire and safe footwear — dress shorts are discouraged though. Beachwear, active wear, thongs and men’s singlets are not allowed.

Be responsible with consumption of alcohol

With our bottomless beverage package upgrades, we are happy to serve your drinks of choice for the duration of the cruise. But we expect all our guests to consume alcohol responsibly and maintain the decorum of a premium dining experience on Sydney Harbour. Suffice to say, if you can’t hold your liquor, we will stop serving you drinks, as prescribed by the Responsible Service of Alcohol Guidelines

Know your menu before you board

Our cruise serves a 3-course Signature menu that showcases exotic vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes that suit a neutral palate. Food is freshly prepared on board, which makes it difficult for us to cater to dietary requirements such as gluten-free, nut-free or dairy free. Therefore any requests for dietary substitutions and modifications of menus will be politely declined. Irrespective, our staff is always at your service to assist you in any way possible.

Our biggest success has always been about customer satisfaction. Help us help you to create the best memories of Sydney Harbour by following these simple yet efficient etiquette tips on board. We can’t wait to have you aboard!
